Established in 1848 as the seat of Williamson County, Georgetown has a proud history of collaboration
and innovation. Community efforts spanning many years have preserved our unique historic
architecture and strengthened our optimistic and compassionate character.
On behalf of the Georgetown City Council, I welcome you to explore all that the city of Georgetown
has to offer. While the entire central Texas area is experiencing tremendous economic and population
growth, Georgetown’s location on IH-35 north of Austin makes it a superior choice for business
relocation and expansion.
However, it’s not just “location, location, location” when it comes to Georgetown. Our abundant natural
resources, amenities, and character have attracted a variety of quality manufacturing, life-science,
