A Word from Wendy

In what feels like a blink of an eye , we find ourselves smack bang in the middle of another winter . And while time is certainly flying , much has been happening at EBL Disability Services , as always .

To kick things off , we are extremely grateful to announce our successful transition into the Copper Coast Region , with accommodation services now established in Wallaroo . These services are dedicated to meeting the needs of people living with a disability who live and work within the region . As we know , strong and healthy relationships play a vital role in the ongoing health and wellbeing of individuals , families and the broader community and it is exactly this , that drives EBL to continually provide and support such an integral service on a daily basis .
Next , it is EBL ’ s pleasure to officially welcome Calin to the position of Harrow House Manager . Having only been in the role for a short amount of time , we have already received incredible feedback about her exemplary leadership as House Manager . Parents of Harrow are extremely pleased with the work Calin is doing , in particular , organising a special Mother ’ s Day dinner , which included the Harrow residents helping out . There were even special menus printed , with the event proving to be a huge success and one that will be remembered fondly by those who attended . We are extremely thankful to Calin for stepping into the Harrow Management role and doing such a wonderful job . Thank you Calin !
We were then humbled by the extremely gracious gift of giving provided by Day Options client and Daveron Park resident , Bernadette , on her 50 th birthday . Instead of receiving birthday presents , Bernadette requested to give back to EBL instead and to call it , “ Bernadette ’ s Day ”. It was a beautiful gesture and one that touched our hearts . The day was a huge success , with over 100 people in attendance . It is certainly a day Bernadette , her family , friends and the EBL community will cherish . Thank you Bernadette !
Also in this issue , we officially welcome Dawn Brodie as our new Conveynor of the Carer Advisory Group . Dawn has accepted the position as Betsy Tang , who will remain in the group , steps down from the role to pursue another similar role as Convenor of our Innovation Committee .. Please join me in thanking Betsy for her amazing work since 2015 and welcome Dawn to the helm . We are very grateful to have both women as part of the Carer Advisory Group .
On that same topic , we have now received and collated the Carer Survey Results for 2017 . The results and feedback have been both positive and encouraging , as we at EBL constantly strive to ensure all of our clients ’ needs are met beyond expectation . A summary of these results can be found in this edition of the newsletter .
As always , should you have any questions or suggestions , please contact myself or your team anytime .
