Future2 Foundation Make
the difference Grant! Win!
L
ate last year, EBL submitted a proposal to access $10K in funding through
the “Future2 Foundation Make the Difference Grants!” program and won!
Our submission called, “My Voice Matters”, allowed EBL to purchase a series of
iPads and 2-3 communication based applications to assist with daily living and
education.
This win allows EBL to assist people under the age of 25 coming through both
our respite program (approximately 30 people and increasing with the NDIS
opportunities) and those residing in our supported accommodation service
(9-10 people under 25). The funding will also be utilised for the purchase and
roll out of assistive technology, which in turn, will allow us to further develop,
educate and improve the overall wellbeing for these people living with
disabilities.
These tools not only allow a non-verbal person to clearly articulate when they
are bored, hungry, upset, or happy, it also sees a dramatic improvement in their
life. This equipment is also beneficial for children who are part of our respite
program who may struggle with anxiety or clearly stating what’s wrong. It is
our vision that this assistive technology will help to grow the bond between
each individual staying in the home and the staff.
