By now, all students are back in school. From the elementary school kids to the college kids, books are being read to acquire knowledge. Even though I am not a student in somebody’s class, I am a student in studying my craft. I love nestling in my favorite book store to run my hands over recipes and cooking strategies. In order to become better at a craft, studying is always required. This month I am throwing out the “HOW MANY GREEN FOODS CAN YOU PUT ON YOUR PLATE?” challenge. Green foods are a rich source of chlorphyll, which acts as a detoxifier in the body. They provide vital nutrients such as calcium, magnesium, potassium, and vitamins C, K, E, and B. Greens support a healthy immune system, contain essential omega -3 fatty acids which support a healthy heart and cholesterol. They even taste delicious when cooked the right way. You can incorporate green foods in your meats, side dishes, alcoholic drinks and desserts. Dr. Tonya Allen is ROCKING HER GIFTS in this issue. Her talents as a piano player and as a choir director extend from the classroom to the church. As you go about your studying, remember that “This is the day that the Lord has made” we should treat every day as such. ENJOY!
