Spreading BY ALLISON SLUTE, WINE COLUMNIST One of the best parts about being a sommelier is having the privilege to learn about a wine lover’s tastes and general wine preferences, and then be able to educate and recommend a new wine or wine region that may not be in that person’s current wheelhouse. The wine world is so vast with so many choices out there that it would be a travesty for one to not get a chance to e xperience as many wines as possible throughout their life. I can’t think of a better time of year than the holidays for someone to think outside their usual (wine) box, and share with friends and family something a little unexpected – but no less delicious!
