Gatherings...
I was inspired by the title of one of the new books reviewed
in this issue, as it sums up the season for me - gatherings - of
friends, family and collegues to celebrate and enjoy. This
issue of EIEO is all about entertaining, cooking and
gathering to share great food at home.
I hope this issue inspires you to invite the gang over for a
casual pizza party, share an interesting cocktail or bake a
batch of homemade cookies. We’re excited to reveal the
winners of our annual Christmas in July Cookie Contest.

choosing just seven winners was really tough... but tasty!
Once again we are welcoming a new member to the EIEO
team - Kathy Jollimore of eathalifax.ca, Kathy is not new to
our readers, but she’s now our Maritime Reporter. Look for
her story on Charcuterie in this issue and lots of future stories
from the east coast.
In December we tend to look back at the year and take
stock of what we have accomplished and what exciting
challenges lie ahead. Here at the magazine, we created
and launched a new blog with weekly recipes I hope will
