One is the large amount of travel involved as a fashion buyer, which could mean a lot of time away from loved ones – anywhere from weeks to months at a time, possibly even longer. If the buyer isn’t willing to put up with this, then this job is not for him/her. Perks and Benefits One of the perks of being a fashion buyer is the ability to travel and see these top brands worn live on the runway. Another is being able to meet the designers behind the clothes and work out a deal with them about selling their merchandise in the company’s stores. This is very exciting, as the fashion buyer may possibly get to meet and talk with some of the top designers in the world, and be able to maintain good relations with them.
