Undergraduate Teacher Education
Curriculum for Undergraduate Elementary
School Teacher Education (CUESTE) is
EOU’s undergraduate teacher licensure pro-
gram with a major in elementary education.
Early Childhood Education
Eastern Oregon University and the College
of Education offer a non-licensure major
in Early Childhood Education. The Early
Childhood Education major is offered com-
pletely online.
Reading Endorsement
Education students at EOU can earn a read-
ing endorsement at the undergraduate level.
The program is also available at the graduate
level to licensed teachers who wish to add an
endorsement to their license.
Master of Arts in Teaching
The MAT Program is a graduate teacher
preparation program designed to help stu-
dents obtain initial Oregon Licensure in
either primary/elementary or middle/high
school and to enable students to earn a Mas-
ter of Arts in Teaching Degree.
Master of Science
The Master of Science degree (MS) is in-
tended to provide students with a strong
course of study related to the field of educa-
tion. While the MS program will not lead to
a teaching license, the program is not limited
to licensed teachers. If you are a graduate
student wishing to pursue an initial teaching
license, please refer to our MAT program.
The Masters of Science is fully online.
English for Speakers of Other
Languages
English for Speakers of Other Languages
(ESOL) is available at a graduate or under-
graduate level and can be taken in conjunc-
tion with CUESTE or the MS in Education.
It can also be completed separately.
Special Education
EOU’s endorsement program in Special Ed-
ucation is offered completely online and can
be taken in conjunction with the Master of
Science in Education, or on its own.
