Homelessness is everywhere. Not just in poor places but rich as well. This is a map of Wales showing where the highest rates of homelessness are. The red areas highlight the most, orange the next most, yellow the second to last least and the white have below average.

This graph shows the households recognised each year as newly homeless by the local authority. Swansea has the biggest homeless problem with 15 homeless people per 1000 households, that means that for every 1000 households (about the size of St Mellons) 15 people will be homeless.

How Can YOU Help?

Don’t just walk past them shivering in the cold when you are wearing a big, warm coat, carrying a warm coffee, go and get them a coffee or a hot pasty. It will make their day.

You can help out at local soup kitchens or volunteer at a charity supporting homelessness. The most well known ones locally are The Salvation Army and Llamau.
