Pre-entry
You will learn to
• Use simple everyday vocabulary to deal with simple situations
• Recognise and form letters of the alphabet in upper and lower case
• Complete a simple form giving personal information
• Ask for and respond to requests for personal information
Entry 1
• Use new vocabulary and simple grammar that will help you to ask and answer
questions
• Ask and give travel information
• Make an appointment with the doctor and ask for medicines at the chemist
• Ask for and give simple directions
• Talk and write about your family, friends and yourself
• Understand signs, symbols and instructions
• Read and write some letters, notes, emails and simple forms
Entry 2
• Initiate and respond to simple conversations and discussions on familiar topics
within familiar and predictable situations
• Get across information with increasing grammatical accuracy
• Express feelings, wishes and interests with increasing confidence
• Read and write formal and informal letters
• Improve your job prospects by writing a CV, personal statement, fill in forms for job
