LETTER FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT Above average rainfalls continued in August keeping the golf course very wet and the driving range closed. The makeup of the soil is the root of the problem. Throughout the years the soils had compacted which limits percolation to the drain tile, keeping the soils very wet for a long period of time. In order to repair this, we need to renovate a portion of the range & bring in a profile that allows a better percolation rate, allowing water to move into the drain tile. We will be doing our last aerification of the Summer on September 10th & 11th with 3/8 hollow tines. We are very pleased with the health and condition of the putting surfaces heading into the Fall & Winter season. Juan Perez SEPTEMBER eaglebrooke newsletter 15
