L E T T E R F R O M T H E H OA P R E S I D E N T Greetings to our Association Members and Neighbors! How will you be celebrating the 4th of July? If you’re traveling to visit friends and family or taking a vacation, bon voyage! The Fourth of July is a clear signal that we are in full summer vacation mode, and it’s a great day filled with family, backyard barbecuing, and fireworks. If you’re celebrating close to home, there are some important things to consider. 1. Please re-read our HOA restrictions and guidelines to familiarize yourself with what you can and cannot do as a member of the Association. The rules and guidelines can be found on our website at https://www.eaglebrooke.net/ document-archive/. 2. If you will be hosting guests, please make sure they know and understand the HOA rules too, otherwise you’ll be held liable. 3. If you’ll be cooling off in the Club pool, please be sure to follow all water safety rules. 4. Please be sure to closely supervise kids playing in the water, especially younger children who can’t swim well. 5. Please be courteous to your neighbors and stay aware of your noise level. 6. Make sure your guests know where they can and cannot park. 7. If you’ll be grilling, please make ensure your grill is away from your home and deck railings, and out from under eaves and overhanging branches. 8. Make sure fireworks are legal in our area before buying or using them. Please check out https://www.tripsavvy.com/ fireworks-laws-in-florida-2346885 to ensure you know what is legal in Polk County. 9. Soak used fireworks in water before disposing of them in a garbage can. 10. Watch out for your pet’s safety; many dogs get spooked and go missing during the 4th of July. 11. While using fireworks, please be sure to keep a fire extinguisher or water hose nearby, just in case. NOTE: 200 people on average go to the emergency room every day with fireworks-related injuries in the month around the July 4th holiday. Please remember, it’s the responsibility of the HOA board to protect, enhance, and maintain the Community Association. Reminding residents of 4th of July safety lets you know that we as your Board care about all our residents and the community as a whole. The next HOA Board meeting is August 14 @ 6:30 pm at the Clubhouse. The ARC will meet at 5:30 PM that evening and will share a summary of approvals with interested residents at 6:00 pm in the Clubhouse. Please note: The HOA Board will NOT hold a Board meeting in July. We are sending out the final version of the Rules and Regulations for Rental Properties to all Eaglebrooke residents. This document can be found at https://www.eaglebrooke.net/document-archive/. The board will vote on the final version of this document at the August 14 meeting. I encourage all residents to review the Rental Regulations, and if you have any questions, please come to the August HOA Board meeting (August 14 @ 6:30 pm at the Clubhouse) to get your question or concern answered. I believe that we are the luckiest people in the world. I know that may sound like one of those huge exaggerations, but it’s not. We are free to be anybody and anything we want, and thanks to the incredible foresight of our Forefathers, we have the laws to protect our rights to do just that. The Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution encourage us to be independent and pursue our own version of happiness, whatever that may be. I hope you enjoy our wonderful 4th of July holiday, and remember those who laid down their lives for us. I also encourage you to be safe in everything you do! Happy Independence Day to you all! 12 eaglebrooke newsletter JULY Lithea Beck
