Hello Eaglebrooke Members,
Happy April to all our members and residents. Looking over the past month, we experienced some unusually wet and
cloudy weather for this time of year. We welcome Spring with open arms and are excited for another busy month at our
facility!
We are very excited to be hosting the Women’s United States Senior Open Qualifier on Tuesday, April 23rd. We continue to
have many of high-profile events at our facility, which speaks to the quality and consistency of our course. The field size for
this event is projected to be small and should have a minimal impact to our member play. We welcome all our members
out to the facility on this day to watch some great golf!
Over the past month, we were able to accomplish a handful of projects. The broken cart path pad on hole #11 was repaired.
We will be moving our efforts over to hole #7 very soon. In addition to this repair, we were able to give the on-course
restrooms a new paint job. As you have probably noticed, we did remove the non-functioning water fountains out of these
areas. We plan to add a new water source to these restrooms in the coming weeks.
I have received a lot of great feedback thus far on our TEXT CLUB. If you would like to be a part of these communications,
please text the work “EAGLEBROOKE” to 24587. We plan to send out 1-2 weekly reminders for our upcoming events.
Please note, you can cancel this service at any time simply by replying with the word “STOP”.
Beginning on April 1st, we will be modifying our range ball program. We will no longer be stacking pyramids on the
Driving Range. The starter will have the range balls in his cart for distribution. All golfers will be required to check into the
golf shop and to receive a stamp for these range balls. We will have two different size bags (Warm up bag = 22-25 balls |
Large Bag = 65-70 balls). Members will still receive complimentary range balls as part of their membership privileges. On
the other hand, non-golf members will begin paying for range balls. Not only will this generate a new stream of revenue for
our facility, we can also police who is utilizing the driving range.
This past month, I had the opportunity to attend the Billy Casper Golf Annual Meeting and awards banquet. It was a great
meeting with many leaders of the industry in attendance. I was able to be a part of some great meetings and conversations
regarding our industry with many great people over the course of three days.
During the awards reception, our team was called up to the stage twice for awards. The first award that we received was the
“Most Improved Facility of 2018”. This award is given to the facility that has shown a substantial turnaround in financial
performance and service in the past year. This facility may not have achieved its annual financial goals but is headed in the
right direction. The second award that was presented to us, was the “Most Improved Golf Course of 2018”. This award is
presented to the facility that has shown a substantial turnaround in agronomic conditions in the past year. We have come
a long way over the past year and we have no plans on slowing down. A big shout out goes to our entire time on earning
these awards. I’m truly honored to work alongside of such a great team each and every day!
