10. TRAINING
Post operation training and H&S training were carried
out to keep all personnel ready and aware of
requirements stated in the maintenance and
inspection manuals.
11. CONCLUSION
GIIB inspection teams have worked throughout the
year checking closely the condition of bridge
elements, recorded, reported and updated findings
during inspections. Meanwhile maintenance teams
have worked throughout the year cleaning road
surface, drains, fixing deficiencies as per the
requirements described in the manuals. All works
interfering with road traffic are planned and executed
in close coordination with the traffic safety
department.
In the first year of operation there has been no need
for principal inspections and special inspections since
there have been no issues or damage associated with
unforeseen problems.
The operation and maintenance activities through the
regular inspections, records of various monitoring
devices, knowledge of actual behaviour of bridge
leads to periodic and specific maintenance which then
allows the operator to have a safe and fully
operational bridge and to extend the life of the bridge
and its equipment.
