E-Guide 2017-2018 Enrollment Guide 2017-2018 -FINAL | Page 2

Drumroll please...It’s time to announce the theme to our 2017-2018 school year: Wonder Upon Wonder. In January 2017, we were praying and fasting for divine direction regarding what God had in store for our scholars and families in the upcoming 2017-2018 school year. The word that we came away with reverberating in our hearts and minds was “WONDER.” A few days later our church had a time of prayer where speaker, Scott Howe, shared that he felt the word from God for this next season was that we were about to experience “Wonder Upon Wonder in our midst,” and that “where there is life, there is wonder.” It was a beautiful confirmation of what our leadership team had been sensing. With this in mind, our plans for 2017-2018 have aligned to this theme of wonder. We’ve been asking ourselves how we can make the ordinary come alive? Next year in our idea factories, aka classrooms, we hope to see learning come alive in new and fascinating ways. Our scholars will have unique opportunities to go deeper in their learning experiences, fully embracing the beauty and mystery of this magical word. Wonder happens when the joy of discovery begins. Our mission statement as a school is focused on scholar success. We desire to see our scholars holistically prepared for success in life, and next year you will see us focused on this in some extraordinary ways. For example, in Middle School next year the first three days of school will look very different from years past. In an effort to help scholars hone their communication skills, we will not be verbally communicating in our classrooms for the first two days. Not to worry though, there will still be plenty of communication going on! Additionally, Middle and High School will have a virtual orientation to complete in the month of August in preparation for this next year. Elementary scholars will have some very unique visitors the first two weeks of school in line with our new theme as well. We will be working diligently all summer to tweak and improve the OSOTA scholar complete experience. Thank you, families, for your consistent love and support as we work together to see your children experience future success. We look forward to Orientation, and pray that you have a summer full of wonderful memories! Kind regards, Mrs. Kristen Campbell Head of School P.S. - If you have a chance, check out Hillsong United’s new song entitled, you guessed it, WONDER!
