Career Sin # 1: Not properly speaking the language
When moving to another country to work you cannot expect
that anyone is going to take you seriously as long as you do not
take yourself seriously.
You cannot claim that you are a professional when your
language is so bad that no one can understand what you are
saying.
We all make fun of people who do not speak properly and we
take it as a fault. Why do you think this does not apply to you?
What to do?
If you want to be taken seriously as a professional, be
professional.
Learn the language properly instead of complaining how hard it
is. It shows your ability to learn, cope and adapt.
If possible, learn even more languages, that is always a plus.
Just remember: DO IT PROPERLY.
