Potential Barriers

The limitations to this research project are; how representative the research is in respect to the dyslexic employees being interviewed, does their experience with dyslexia show an actual account for the rest of the dyslexic population. Does the interview with employers show a true indication of how all organisations operate in today’s business world?

Draw backs from the research project using postal questionnaires as there could be a problem with a low return rate, however the questionnaire was not created to provide an in-depth form of information that could be analysis, and the questionnaire was designed to identify issues which could be then explored through interviews.

Ethical issues

All participants were explained the procedure and assured of confidentially and their right to withdraw. Specifically with the interviews, the interviewees were reassured of confidentially because they were discussing some sensitive and personal matters, the decision was made not to name any of the interviewees or the organisation to which they represent because it would not benefit the reader to know. The research project was not designed to show any organisations in a negative light, so again the decision was made to not identify the names and organisations to which the managers being interviewed belong too. This research is based on real lives and involves making public, personal life accounts, this place huge responsibility on the researcher. All documentation will be kept secretly until it is no longer needed then destroyed appropriately.
