Turner’s history of community outreach goes back more than 40 years to
the days when major projects in urban areas were carried out with little
community involvement. Turner made its presence known, stayed visible, and
forged links with the community. Subsequently, Turner produced a nationally
renowned community affairs program that has garnered numerous national
awards. We participate in and sponsor a variety of programs at the local
level including Subcontractor Outreach Programs, Rebuilding Together San
Diego, YouthForce 2020, the Ace Mentor program, and Toys for Tots. We also
continue to support and develop national initiatives, most notably the Turner
School of Construction Management (TSCM).
Successes from TSCM have helped graduates maintain their relationships and
partnerships with other alumni, and they continually return to participate in
other Turner sessions. These relationships not only advance the stature of
the attending company’s profile, but go on to create successful construction
projects our community can be proud of.
“Being in the construction
industry for 35 years, (the San
Diego New Central Library)
has been the best project I’ve
worked with. Turner’s people
were outstanding; it was a true
team effort! If all projects ran this
smooth, construction would have
a better review...thanks Turner!“
