snowflake motifs, but rather an improvisation on the diversity of nature. “As no two snowflakes are alike”, says the artist, “it is a collection that celebrates, above all, the beauty of individuality and uniqueness.” One of Swans technical inventions involves the inclusion of or- ganic materials in her fused glass sculptures, specifically cre- matory remains (aka cremains). Sensing a need, she started a secondary business, Swan Song Memorials, along with her husband, John Wisniewski. Swan Song creates unique memo- rial glass pieces, in which cremains inclusions are embedded. The discreet elegance of these personalized memorial art works has found a resounding response. Cindy hopes to offer heal- ing through her artwork while honoring the memory of those passed. “I am a deeply spiritual person... I hope to create art that cele- brates nature and beauty, and elicits joy, healing and wondrous discovery in the viewer.” Being a woman of many talents, it is no surprise that Swan is also a gifted teacher. She will be opening her studio this fall to introductory and master classes in fused glass. Gloria Delson Contemporary Arts 215 West 6th St, Los Angeles, CA 90014 323 805 9363 www.gdcagallery.com
