10e? Not wanting to go with “café this” or “the something bis-
tro,” this lovely new restaurant is named after one of the partners’
daughters, Teny, for good luck. A downtown restaurateur since
1985, Jacques Darakjian has navigated many eras in dining. His
latest venture with partner Mark Geragous is a return to their col-
lective Lebanese/Armenian roots. Located on the ground floor of
the storied Fine Arts Building, 10e is an elegant exploration of
traditional Mediterranean dishes. Portioned to share, 62 favorite
dishes from Israel, Lebanon, Armenia, Greece and Cypress are
offered for lunch and dinner. Open 7 days a week with 2 stories of
dining space and 2 full bars, 10e is a terrific spot for a party. Even
better, 10e has the rights to open their side door into to the Fine
Arts Building lobby (an Art Nouveau treasure) for weekend func-
tions, creating a truly remarkable reception space. Having only be
open a few weeks, Saturday and Sunday brunches should be in
place soon.
