This intimate, modern space designed by owner Linda Shin is
an exciting newcomer to the 7th street restaurant row. Chef
Ming Phan has crafted a modern Korean and American menu
scaled beautifully for a range of appetites and palates. For
dinner, small plates include duck rillettes, furikake-molasses
corn bread, or a kimchi duo, while some of the big plates
options are pork belly and spiced prawns, little neck clams
and pei mussels, Korean fried chicken and of course, the top
selling Dolsot Bibimbap. Gaji serves the traditional dish with
the classic crispy rice bed, but tops it with seasonal vege-
tables –very healthy, yet updated. Craft beers and wine are
available. Save room for dessert. I’m currently torn between
pound cake with orange cream, berries and miso carmel or
melon sorbet, cucumber mint ice and sweet chili.
