Seems a quiet Scandinavian invasion has been launched. First, Acne
Studios, Stockholm’s luxury fashion house burst upon the scene. They
in turn, recruited Sweden’s beloved ilcaffé to open with them on Broadway. Now, just around the corner on Hill, Austere has joined DTLA’s
Scandinavian influx, and what a welcomed arrival! Housed in the ground
floor of parking garage on the southeast corner of 9th and Hill, Fredrik
Carlström’s “magazine you can walk into” is an engaging salute to
Scandinavian design and innovation. This retail/showroom/event space
presents an elegant crash course on leading voices in clothing, furniture,
products and design objects. Current standouts include Altewaisaome
separates, Schnayderman button down shirts, White Brief undergarments, POC cycling helmets, Bjork & Berries body products, Poul Henningsen lighting and a personal sentimental favorite, Brio Train sets.
Den är så cool!
