The Wassily B3 is an exact
miniature of the original club
chair designed by Marcel
Breuer in 1925. The chair is
characterized by its use of
open space—shown elegantly
in the open frame and
spaces between the leather
upholstery. The chair is known
as an early modern classic.
This DCW Chair is a
miniature version of Charles
Eames and Eero Saarinen’s
design for a 1940 New
York MoMA competition.
In order to produce
the chair commercially,
Charles and Ray Eames
began experimenting with
techniques and created the
DCW with a molded plywood
seat, back, and functional,
supportive spine.
This Butterfly Stool Miniature
captures Sori Yanagi’s original
1954 design. Yanagi’s stool
utilized the plywood molding
technique that was invented
by Charles and Ray Eames.
The stool is characterized by
its symmetry, and looks like
an artful sculpture when not
in use.
Designed by George Nelson,
the Coconut Chair was
introduced in 1955. Named
for its resemblance to a piece
of coconut shell, the chair is
round and welcoming. Like
the original, this miniature
is crafted from leather,
a soft foam cushion, and a
plastic shell that sits on
three bent-steel legs.
