Just unwrapped Friday March 27, DTLA’s newest soul food kitchen is a
godsend for night owls who want to end the evening/greet the new day
with some solid, simple food. Comfort LA is the brainchild of chef Jeremy
Mcbryde and his two partners, Erik Dixon (stylist and owner of One Man’s
Trash) and business strategist, Mark E. Walker.
You are going to love their game plan. Comfort LA will be opened from
9pm – 3am Friday - Sunday. (Yes, you read right—doors open at 9pm) If
all goes as planned, a 3pm brunch will be added on Sunday in the coming weeks. They serve up plates of Chicken/Mac and Cheese/Greens for
$10.00. Additional sides are $4.00 (Big thumbs up for Aunt Myrtle’s Corn
Bread) Wash it down with a cup of Ginger-Aid for a sweet finish.
Daily Dose’s Sarkis Vartanian provided his test kitchen for the Comfort LA
team to perfect their batter, sauce and corn bread. So freaking flavorful
you just might skip the club to make sure you are in line before they run
out.
