Խաչքար «Սիրուն Խաչ»

Այս խաչքարը համարվում է իր ժամանակաշրջանի
ամենագեղեցիկներից մեկը, թեև նրա ստեղծման տարեթիվը հստակ
չի նշվում: Խաչքարի վրա արված փորագրությունը թույլ է տալիս
այն կապել Մամիկոնյանների տոհմի հետ, ովքեր կառավարել են XIII
դարում:

Այն պատվիրված է անզավակ մի մարդու կողմից, ով
ցանկանում էր իրենից հետո ինչ-որ բան թողնել սերունդներին:

1969թ-ին այն մասնակցել է Ֆրանսիայում անցկացվող
ցուցահանդեսին, որտեղ արժանացել է երկրորդ մրցանակային տեղի:
Սակայն Հայաստան ետ բերելու ճանապարհին այն կոտրվել է:

Պատասխան: Խաչքարերը հիմնականում կանգնեցվել են
փաստելու հավատքը, որպես տապանաքար հանգուցյալի հոգու փրկության
համար: Դրանց տեղադրումը ունեցել է նաև այլ առաքելություն. օրինակ՝
ի հիշատակ ռազմական հաղթանակների, եկեղեցիների կառուցման կամ
բնական աղետներից պաշտպանվելու համար:

QUIZZ: There are many «khachkars» in Armenia. Do you know why
they were erected ?
Answer : The most common reason for erecting a khachkar was for
belief reasons - for the salvation of the souls of deceased people. They were also
erected for other reasons, such as to commemorate a military victory, construction of a church, or as a form of protection from natural disasters.

It was made by the order of a childless man who wanted to
leave a legacy to the future generations.

In 1969 it participated in an international exhibition in France where
it was awarded a second place medal but was broken on its way back
to Armenia.

This cross-stone is one of the most beautiful ones of its
period, although the precise date of its creation is not known. The
engraved work on the stone allows to relate it to the Dynasty of Mamikonyans who ruled the region in 13th century.
