black friday, is it good for us?

As I turn on my phone, I can tell this Friday isn't like any other Friday. One reason being I have received over ten emails from shops informing me of their 'Black Friday' sales. Most of which end up in the recycle bin soon after.

For some people, if you're like me anyway, a few days ago you were probably wondering what on Earth 'Black Friday' was. Is it a mourning day? A day where we need to dress in black? Or perhaps another form of halloween? Well it's pretty safe to say if you didn't know then, then I almost guarantee you do now.

Black Friday is in fact an American craze where the Friday after Thanksgiving is a time for shoppers to, well, go crazy - think boxing day sales. So what's with the name you may ask, well ever since the recession, shops have quite frankly struggled to pull through, Black Friday is a day which allows shops to get out of the red zone and into the black, in other words, neither make a profit or a loss.

So it may be good for shops, but is Black Friday really, actually good for us, the consumer? In some ways yes, and some ways no. I suppose it's great if you need to get your Christmas Shopping done, and by all means make the most of the

The AMAs 2014 took place on the 23rd November and the red carpet of course was one not to miss, with some of the most current singers making an appearance either on the red carpet or on stage

The award shows which was started in 1973 by Dick Clark has seen a wide range of performers and this years line-up didn't disappoint. Performces by the likes of J-Lo, Iggy Azalea, Lil Wayne, Taylor Swift, Charli XCX, Sam Smith, A$AP Rocky, Lorde, The Weeknd, Fergie, Mary J. Blige, Nicki Minaj, Jessie J and Ariana Grande to name a few.
