"Vientiane"- This illustration is a part of my Bloom collection(2013) which focused on portraits and collage photography. The Bloom portraits are all named after beautiful and mysterious places on Earth. My intention with the portraits was to create a seductive, dreamlike, somewhat surreal image that draws the viewer in and makes them want to see more. I aspire that the painting fulfills their desire to see more when they keep looking and see the hidden, not so obvious details in the painting. In, "Vientiane," the woman within the cheek of the portrait is an outstanding example of the effect. Each painting contains my own technique of blending watercolor and acrylic paints, ink, pencil, medium and photo transferring.
