Art Across the
Universe
Thornhill Elementary School
By Mrs. Larsen
oakland, ca - These art panels show the wonders of outer space, both real and imaginary, plus the power of community dreams.
The Universe is so huge, and it is just waiting to be 'discovered' and understood. There is so much we don't know. Dreams have to be fueled like rockets. We need curiosity, bravery, technology, skills, and compassion.
The view of our planet Earth from space also reminds us to take good care of our home and all of its inhabitants; all are here for a reason we have to discover (except maybe the mosquitoes and ticks!).
We may be just a speck in this giant equation, but we're important... so is space exploration, and so are dreams. Just give us a canvas to communicate our dreams; kids have big ideas and big plans. See our work and see our group photo. (prior page).
Did you enjoy this project? Absolutely!! We loved making our dreams, knowledge, and imagination come to vivid-color life on cloth. It feels good to know our work will be seen by many.
