Summary: Creation of a durable work of art on fabric that provides a visual depiction of the theme of Night Sky and Astronomy. This is a project that involves research, cooperation, collaboration, organization, and artistic skills.

Objective

1. Create an original work of art on cloth depicting their perspective on the night sky theme.

2. Brainstorm ideas for a depiction of the night sky.

3. Cooperate and collaborate with other students to create a collective piece of art with a unifying theme.

Materials

1. 14 inch by 26 inch panels of cloth;

2. Pencils, erasers, masking tape, sharpies, colored markers, and acrylic paints;

3. Photos and printouts of the solar system, Saturn V rocket, and outer space features;

Steps to setting up and preparing

1. Lay out each panel along a covered table/surface.

2. Tape down each panel creating a one inch taped over border framing the panel – and securing the panel to the surface.

3. Set out supplies needed.
