NYCK SHIRKEY

IN COOLSHIRT SYSTEMS Pro Jr . Dragster , perennial championship contender Kaylee Love and Nyck Shirkey battled it out all season for the title . Love was the early frontrunner with a runner-up finish and a win out of the gate , but it was Shirkey who finished out the year strong in his ’ 19 Halfscale dragster . The Ridgely , Maryland-based driver was nearly perfect in the final three races , with a win , a runner-up and a split-and-quit runner-up finish at the rain-soaked World Finals .
Meanwhile , Love struggled in the tail end of the season , including a DNQ at the World Finals . With Shirkey just 9 points behind Love going into the race , the DNQ settled the championship battle before eliminations began .
Following Shirkey and Love , it was Noah Cornatzer , Mallory Logan and Will Creasman rounding out the top five .

ALYSSA RABON

FLORENCE , SOUTH CAROLINA ’ S Alyssa Rabon set the stage for a Gilbert Motorsports Top Jr . Dragster world championship right out of the gate , as she scored the first “ 660 Man ” trophy of the season at the East Coast Nationals . She cooled off after that , while championship challengers like Lane Morgan and Zach Shirkey won the second and third races , respectively .
Rabon in her ’ 10 Halfscale dragster bounced back when it mattered , though , as she reached the final round at the World Finals . Coincidentally , Morgan and Shirkey both failed to qualify , opening the door for Rabon . She collected the championship when she won first round . Since the race was called off before the final round , Rabon shared the event victory with Coolidge Rivenbark .
Morgan and Shirkey finished second and third , respectively , followed by Danika Miles and Rivenbark .
