‘ CHAMPTRON ’ GOES PINK
■ Three-time NHRA Top Fuel world champion Antron Brown sends six-foot-tall nitro header flames flying as he blasts off the starting line in his Matco Tools / Global Electronic Technology dragster during the AAA Texas NHRA FallNationals . Sporting a special pink “ Tools for the Cause ” look throughout Breast Cancer Awareness Month , Brown ended up qualifying No . 8 with a 3.765-second pass at 323 MPH . Two races later at the NHRA Finals , Brown took his Brian Corradi and Mark Oswald-tuned hot rod to the winner ’ s circle in Las Vegas , breaking a 42-race winless drought .
