SEVERANCE AT SUNDOWN
■ Clutch dust flies as Joey Severance launches off the Yellowstone Drag Strip starting line in his screaming , screw-blown J & A Service Top Alcohol Dragster during an NHRA Lucas Oil Series divisional doubleheader . Severance , a four-time NHRA Top Alcohol Dragster world champion , qualified No . 2 and raced to the final round , though engine damage in the semifinals prevented him from returning to face Shawn Cowie in the final round .
