RUN OF THE YEAR ? JACKSON SHOCKS THE WORLD WITH 3.50 !
In a year during which he has experienced everything from crashes to controversy , Stevie “ Fast ” Jackson produced a career-defining run … even though that career is still in its earliest stages . The already-legendary Georgian who builds , drives , talks , wins and endlessly repeats the process dropped jaws around the globe with a single pass at the 18th annual Shakedown Nationals at Tommy Franklin ’ s Virginia Motorsports Park .
Taking full advantage of manager Tyler Crossnoe ’ s fantastic surface preparation , Jackson wheeled his Strange-backed “ Shadow 2.0 ” Radial Versus The World 2016 Camaro to his third Radial Tire Record-breaking pass of the season , a staggering 3.520 at 213.27 mph , to lead the field .
From the start of eliminations , however , a war began between Jackson ’ s screw compressor-driven Camaro and the similar rig of David Reese which uses a 400 cubic inch smallblock GM powerplant to run at a lighter weight break . In his first match of the day , the fellow Georgia resident tied Jackson ’ s record with

mind-numbing 3.520 of his own at 213.10 mph . A 3.524 at an even faster 214.11 second round win put Reese on collision course with reigning NHRA Pro Modified World Champ Jackson .
A 3.53 / 213.47 and a 3.523 / 214.21 got Jackson past the first two rounds and set up an East Georgia ( Jackson ) versus West Georgia ( Reese ) showdown . With a brilliant 0.015 Reaction Time , Jackson took an eighth hundredths holeshot and drove away to post a performance which , with little argument , could be considered the Run Of The Year . His 3.505 / 213.27 eclipsed Reese ’ s 3.522 / 214.55 , ( the quickest and fastest supercharged Radial runs of all time behind Jackson ’ s bests ), to advance to the finals . In the trophy round , Jackson trounced Brazilian newcomer Luis De Leon ’ s nitrous injected 1968 Camaro with a near-duplicate 3.508 / 213.20 .
Jackson has owned the Drag Radial Elapsed Time Record since January 25 , 2020 , and , in fact has dropped it multiple times throughout the season . However , a 3.50-second eighth-mile pass is quite different than even a 3.51 . With it , “ Stevie Fast ” pushed his 521 cubic inch Brad Anderson alcohol Chrysler Hemi into the fifth spot of the Drag Illustrated Top 8 Unlimited Pro Modified ETs to create the first movement on that list in FOUR SEASONS !
Only four drivers have clocked under 3.50 seconds in a passenger automobile and none were on radial tires . In fact , no alcohol-burning Funny Car has never been quicker than 3.54 seconds . When the most recent “ no rules ” Pro Modified category , ( Pro Extreme Eliminator ), collapsed under its own weight in the middle of the 2018 season , there was virtually nobody willing to save it . Most attention was being focused on the RvW division which , at the
