NEW BLUES
Prince George, Virginia’s Buddy Perkinson rolls out of
the water box in his Musi 959ci-powered ‘69 Camaro
in preparation for a final qualifying pass at the PDRA
Mid-Atlantic Showdown. Since purchasing the car
from Randy Weatherford over the winter, Perkinson
has turned the former Pro Nitrous car into a consistent
low-3.80s player in Elite Top Sportsman, where he
went to the final round in the first two PDRA races of
the season. He lost an opening-round bout with 2017
world champion Dewayne Silance at Virginia, but he’s
still just one round behind points leader John Benoit
going into the second half of the season.
