The global pandemic-induced shutdown was no match for Funny Car driver and team owner Paul Lee, who was
sidelined by a “widow maker” heart attack after a breakout 2016 season. A rigorous rehab program followed and Lee
returned to racing in 2019 with the best car he’s ever had. With the NHRA’s season set to resume next month, the
Southern California cool driver is just eager to get back to the track with his family and friends. BY JOSH HACHAT
