After a barn-burning start to what
Jeg Coughlin Jr. is calling his
“Breaking Barriers” retirement tour,
the five-time NHRA Pro Stock world
champion was a heavy favorite to
win the inaugural Drag Illustrated
World Doorslammer Nationals.
Alex Laughlin, on the other hand,
was somewhat of an unknown
after entering Pro Mod with the
Caruso Family Racing Camaro for
the first time ever. The two Elite
Motorsports Pro Stock teammates
ended up sharing the winner’s
circle Sunday evening, adding a
new page to the history books.
