Several hundred bracket racers filled the staging lanes at two different races that
advertised winner’s purses of $500,000 or more this year. Against the odds, Gage Burch,
19, won the first, the SFG 500 in June, driving a “beater truck” owned by 24-year-old Matt
Dadas. Two months later, Dadas reached the final round at the second huge-money race,
the Fall Fling 500K, going red by .010. Along the way, the duo and their friends made
