Dirt “We changed both cars from roots-blown to a ProCharger over the winter,” Hard says. “Kevin’s run roots-blown cars for a long, long time. When we look at the performance we’ve gotten out of this combination, it’s been spectacular. It was just a great race for us.” Longtime Outlaw 10.5 class standout Mo Hall is no stranger to success at Cecil County, and this year’s event was no different. Hall piloted a consistently quick car all weekend, scoring his second career Yellowbullet.com victory, adding to his two runner-up finishes. “In Wednesday testing, we found the answers, and we thought we had a pretty dominant car,” Hall says. “Friday night during qualifying, we proved we had a very dominant car, and had an outstanding car to run all weekend long.” Hall qualified No. 1 with a 3.82 at 195 mph, then ran consistent mid-3.80’s for most of eliminations. He saved his best pass for the final, running a 3.80 to defeat Steve Woolley, who struggled to a 5.20. Hall credited his tuner for the commanding performance over the weekend. “I gotta thank Brandon Switzer and the MoTeC M150 – we’re one of the first to ever run that in a nitrous car,” Hall says. “One of the best feelings you can have is to go somewhere where you know you can’t screw up. Brandon just had that car di- aled in all weekend, couldn’t do anything wrong.” Charles Hull ran the table in X275, going from the No. 1 qualifying spot all the way to the win- ner’s circle. In what should have been an epic battle of top contenders in the final, Hull received a competition bye when Rich Bruder broke and couldn’t make the call. Other event winners included Jim Salber (Pro Street), John Albrecht Jr. (Ultra 275), Mike New- man (Top Sportsman), James Smith (Warriors), Dan Purdy (8.50 Index), Chris Yeznach (10.0 Index), and Steven McMillan (Pro Dial). With a decade of experience now behind them, it appears Mikho and Halsey have come close to what can be considered a near-perfect race. “The stars aligned, we had good weather, and I would say that it was our best event ever,” Mikho says. “This is a constant learning curve for us, and we’ll continue to make small changes. But I think we’re finally, after 10 years, at a spot we’re happy at. I’m pretty excited to say that.” DI DI DI DI DI DI DI 30 | D r a g I l l u s t r a t e d | DragIllustrated.com DI DI DI Issue 150 YELLOWBULLET.COM NATIONALS
