PRESENTED BY “You’ve got to understand that the main chassis on this car was built in ‘99. The car has a lot of history. We know the car, so we just kept refining it. As the class evolved, we just tried to evolve with it and keep the car as modern as we can. The car is really a state-of-the-art car. You wouldn’t know it by looking at it, but’s it a pretty trick piece underneath. “We run a big-block Chevrolet-based engine. It’s a big-block Chevy dimension. It’s a stock 9.800 deck height. It’s a stock bore space. Nothing on it is stock, of course, but it’s stock dimensions. It’s a true big-block Chevy. The reason we stick with that is because Jason (Carter) has done the big- block Chevy stuff for a long time. That’s all I’ve ever raced. From the late ‘80s, that’s all I’ve known. It just clicks with both of us.” – MARK MICKE BASIC INFO Car Owner: Jason Carter Driver: Mark Micke Hometown: Kansas City/Jefferson City, MO Car Year/Model: 1978 Chevrolet Malibu Sanction/Class: Radial vs. the World Best ET/Speed: 3.623/221.98 CHASSIS & BODY Builder: Blake Housley Location: Kansas City, MO Wheelbase: 106 in.
