Perennial Top Alcohol Dragster championship contender Megan Meyer sits
strapped into her NGK Spark Plugs/WELD Racing A/Fuel dragster while
crew member Danny Pomponio prepares to make an adjustment on the
nitro-injected engine. She went on to record a 5.168 at 283 mph to qualifying
No. 1 in the NGK Spark Plugs NHRA Four-Wide Nationals field, later charging
through eliminations with low 5.2-second passes and a decisive 5.19 final-
round win. The second-generation driver also won the NHRA Carolina
Nationals at zMAX in September, tying Ashley Force-Hood as the winningest
female driver in Top Alcohol Dragster with five national event victories.
