Canadian Top Sportsman racers Marc Gervais (near lane)
and Don Nelson inch their naturally aspirated entries into
the pre-stage beams during Saturday night qualifying at
the Canadian Nitro Nationals. Gervais relies on a 780 ci
Sonny’s Racing Engines powerplant coupled with a 5-speed
transmission to navigate the quarter-mile in his ‘68 Camaro,
while Nelson’s Vanishing Point-built ‘33 Willys is motivated
by a 762 ci bullet hooked up to a Powerglide transmission.
