espite missing the midsea-
son Street Car Super Nationals in
St. Louis, drag radial star Kenny
Hubbard was able to claim the
first Mid-West Radial Outlaws
Series X275 championship. The
affable Texan and his nitrous-huffing ’74 Nova
were victorious at the spring Throwdown in
T-Town in May, then maintained a consistent
level of performance through the season finale,
where he held off Team Mills, Bob Bales and Phil
Hines to secure the title. – N AT E VA N WAG N DI

n what was a big year for MX235,
2017 saw the class’s racers fight for its
first championship under the Mid-West
Radial Outlaws Series, as well as a re-
cord purse of $20,000 to win at the fall
Throwdown in T-Town. While Reichardt
wasn’t one of the four racers who split the big
money, he was the most consistently successful
MX235 driver in his leaf spring-equipped ’67
Camaro. – N AT E VA N WAG N DI
