Counterweight Feedback, Friendly Notes, & Hate Mail World Series of Feels Not sure if you [Wes Buck] remember me, but I met you while in the staging lanes in my Jeep (thanks for the hug) as the chase car for the Magna Fuel Pro Star Class. Our car is the Bat Outa Hell Fuel Altered driven by Joe Percoco, and guess what? We ended up winning! Anyway, it was an absolute pleasure meeting you and the I have to say that the first-ever WSOPM was absolutely kick-ass! You rock, dude! It was so exhilarating and quite an adrenaline rush to be on the property during the event, to even be a part of it. You have so much passion and enthusiasm for drag racing and I think I can speak for everyone when I say that I hope the World Series of Pro Mod was everything you wanted it to be and more. Thank you from the bottom of all of our racing hearts for the dedication and sacrifice required to get all this pulled off. We look forward to next year’s event! Deana Stephens, via the Internet Just wanted to drop you guys a note and let you know that the WSOPM was awesome. Con- gratulations on all of your success. You guys put on an amazing show and I know it will only grow from here. We are so honored to have been even a small part of it and hope that our involvement grows as it all progresses. Thank you so much, and congratulations, again, on an incredible event! Courtney Enders-Lambert, via the Internet Wes! I just wanted to drop you a note and thank you for the confidence you placed in us for the inaugural World Series of Pro Mod event. Grow- ing up we learned a lot from my dad as he was the ultimate promoter - whether it was through our auto part stores, his little league coaching experi- ence, the youth group at church, or eventually at the race track. He typically never said no to any- thing and always listen ed to new ideas and tried to figure out how both groups could benefit from a new venture, so….we learned to do the same thing. Anyway, this latest partnership with you and Drag Illustrated is a perfect example of our upbringing and I’m thankful that yo u chose us with your idea - I’m hopeful this event will not only continue but also grow in every way. Tami Bandimere, via the Internet Congratulations, you guys, on a great event up on the Mountain. I watched every minute of ac- tion line and during the lulls would switch over to the Street Car Supernationals in St. Louis. When both were in lulls, I’d pull up Jay Warren’s live stream on Facebook to watch the Pro Mod Reunion at Farmington Dragway in the Carolinas (Tommy Mauney won). Jim Bartholomew, via the Internet 14 | D r a g I l l u s t r a t e d | DragIllustrated.com All I have to say is the World Series of Pro Mod was by far the best drag race that I have ever been to. Despite my man “Stevie Fast” Jackson losing in the first round, everything about it was spot-on perfect. I spent both nights up there and I just have to say thank you for bringing the biggest race ever for my favorite class of cars to my neck of the woods. I cannot wait until next year! Heck yeah! Luke Kennedy Wanted to drop you guys a quick note and thank you - so very much - for allowing us to par- ticipate in the inaugural World Series of Pro Mod event. We, as a team, feel very privileged to have been in the final round of the Quick Star portion of the event. I can only imagine what Mr. Slatten feels like. I thought the entire event was done very professionally and if there were any hiccups, they were not visible to us as competitors (other than the rain). A job well done by you and all of the staff at Bandimere Speedway under Sporty Bandimere’s direction. The track was in a state of prep that we generally only see for the NHRA national events. Thank you for that as most of us were setting the cars up for an all-out run in each pass down the track. It was very exciting to see a fellow Grand Junction, Colorado-based racer (Steven Whiteley) in the Pro Mod final. Too bad we both ended up going home empty handed, this time! If you decide to do this again in the future, I would hope for and truly appreciate the opportunity to be involved. As the crew chief for the Bud’s Signs Race Team and on behalf of Bud Preuss, team owner and driver, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Paul Schritter, via the Internet On the Button The week after he finally got his first Wally, I bust open the mailbox and see DI #122 with Clay Millican on the cover! Nate Van Wagnen did a tremendous job on the interview. Clay is one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met. No matter how bad his day is he always has a smile for the fans. Congratu- lations to Clay on the big win, his first Wally, and congratulations to DI for yet another great issue.
