S-DIME David Simmons finds some good bite on the starting line of Immokalee Regional Raceway earlier this year while racing his 2000 Chevrolet S-10 truck at the IHRA Summit Sportsman National Championship event. “I had actually just got the truck and this was the first time I had ever been to Immokalee. I did pretty well at this event, getting down to five cars,” says David. Simmons is a resident of McDonough, Georgia, and began his drag racing career some 43 years ago at his local Georgia tracks such as Southeastern Dragway and Atlanta Speed Shop Dragway. His best memory throughout his lengthy career was winning the NHRA U.S. Nationals in 1984 while driving a 1977 Vega that he competed in Super Gas.
