caps with high strength 190,000 psi studs
and bolt, including reducing crankshaft flex,
eliminating cap “walk” and fretting. Threads are
rolled after heat treating, so their fatigue strength
is up to 10-times greater than ordinary fasteners.

These polished stainless steel studs are not
called upon to hold the bottom-end together,
but they sure make it easy to perform
maintenance. The special “nut starter” nose
guides gaskets and pan rails accurately into
position, and close-wrenching 12-point nuts
provide ample clearance in close quarters.
TECH TIP
To eliminate preload scatter and get
between 95-100% of the desired preload on
the first pull use ARP Ultra-Torque Fastener
Lubricant. And don’t forget to put it on the
underside of the head for best results.
