“Don Schumacher once told me that we can’t do this on our own; that we can’t be competitive racing in Top Fuel against these multi-car
teams. Honestly, it pissed me off, and I’m here to prove that we can, that we have, and that we will continue to do so.” - STEVE TORRENCE

PROBLEM?
Brent Sansoucie, longtime friend and right-hand-man of
outlaw drag radial star Mark Woodruff, stands at attention
at the top of the staging lanes at Memphis International
Raceway before he and the team’s twin-turbocharged
Chevy Corvette took to the track in Radial vs. World com-
petition at Tyler Crossnoe’s Outlaw Street Car Reunion.
DI Swag
Veteran Top Sportsman racer Mike Snow has been a longtime competitor on the IHRA circuit. Even though the
Cowpens, South Carolina-resident came up just short in the finals at Darlington against Doug Gbur, Snow and
finance Becky Frady received extra points for their matching DRAG ILLUSTRATED attire!
TOUCH UP
NMCA and NMRA chief starter TJ Bailey
was on hand for the fourth-annual running
of the Outlaw Street Car Reunion, holding
down the starting line from start to finish.
PICTURE PERFECT
One of drag racing’s most beloved couples, Jason
“Pooch” Rueckert and Kyla Lachat, smile for the cam-
era prior to getting prepared for a trip down the outlaw
eighth-mile in their prize 1982 Oldsmobile Cutlass in
Limited Drag Radial competition. Interestingly enough,
Rueckert posted up a career-best 4.195-second,
182mph pass in the fan-favorite G-body later in the day.
