Keith Haney cracks a smile for the camera in the staging lanes during Donald Long’s
now-legendary Lights Out 8 event prior to unleashing the nitrous oxide-injected
950-plus-cubic-inch Reher-Morrison Racing Engines-powered Chevy Camaro known
to Haney’s friends, fans and foes as “Enigma” in the third round of Radial vs. the
World qualifying. After getting reacquainted with the radical radial tire-equipped ride
in previous rounds, Haney, led by tuner Brandon Pesz, poured the coals to the car in
Q3, uncorking an incredible 3.815-second, 198.76mph blitzkrieg on the competition,
as well as setting a career-best run on D.O.T.-approved rubber for Haney.
