FLOPPERS AT FAMOSO
Jason Rupert and Kris Krabill blast off the line in the final round of the 2016 California Hot Rod Reunion with Rupert busting off a stout 5.59-second , 250mph blast to earn an extremely emotional win for the Rolling Thunder Team as this marked their first-ever win at the famed Famoso Raceway – an almost unbelievable stat considering their success over the course of the last few years . Despite losing the final , it was all smiles in the Krabill pits as earlier in the rounds as the Bucky Austin-owned-and-tuned operation clinched the 2016 NHRA Heritage Series Nitro Funny Car Championship . Both teams gave it their all this season and were awarded accordingly with a memorable win and series title in hand .
