SHIFT THIS Ronnie Flynt finds some good bite on the starting line of Farmington Dragway during a qualifying lap of the 6th annual Stick Shift Nationals, held at the legendary eighth-mile facility located just outside Mocksville, North Carolina. Flynt drove his good-looking 1966 Chevy II to the victory over Kenny Regenthal, who showed tremendous sportsmanship after Flynt’s car failed to crank in the staging lanes just prior to the finals. Regenthal patiently waited for his opponent’s car to fire, after which the fans were treated to a gear-banging final round thriller that was decided by the slightest of margins. Flynt, who is a two-time season points champion of the Classic Gear Jamm ers organization, described the Stick Shift Nationals crown as his biggest win to date.
