My Spine Explained Exercise 6 Stand up straight with your arms hanging at your sides. Make yourself “tall”, by stretching your spine and standing completely upright. Correct your neck posture as in exercise 5, tuck in your navel and relax your shoulder blades. Imagine an elastic band from your chest to your shoulder on both sides. Try to stretch the “band” open for two to three cm by rolling your shoulders back and down. Your back must stay straight throughout the movement. If you do the ac- tion correctly, your shoulder blades will move downwards. Hold the contrac- tion for 10 seconds and repeat 10 times. 94
